Women’s History Month Building a Career Through Mentorship, Support and Empowerment Learn more about how the key elements of Commvault’s culture allow us all to be our best. By Colleen Cormier | March 27, 2024 As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, I have been reflecting on the profound impact of inclusion and mentorship in shaping careers and fostering success. Three years ago, I joined Commvault as the Area Vice President for Enterprise, drawn by the company’s innovative solutions to cybersecurity challenges while providing exceptional leadership and developing a vibrant culture. I am honored to be part of a team where the desire to succeed and the pursuit of excellence drive us to constantly push the boundaries of what’s possible for our employees, our customers and our partners. What sets us apart is not just our drive for success, but also our genuine care for each other’s growth and wellbeing. Throughout my career, mentors have played a pivotal role in guiding my path. In the predominantly male-dominated tech industry, many of my mentors have been men. Their allyship and belief in my capabilities encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and pursue opportunities I might have otherwise overlooked. It is essential to recognize the role that both men and women play in championing gender diversity and inclusion in the workplace. By actively engaging in mentorship, sponsorship and allyship, we can collectively contribute to creating a more equitable and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Establishing connections with other women, both within sales and across the business, has been a priority for me. Through mentorship, we can support each other, engage in meaningful conversations and inspire one another to reach our fullest potential. It is important to recognize that an individual’s aspirations and definitions of success are unique. As mentors, it is our responsibility to listen, understand and empower women to pursue their individual goals to help them explore the career paths they choose with confidence. And speaking of women empowerment, in honor of International Women’s Day earlier this month, I had the privilege of partnering with Commvault to support two charitable organizations dedicated to mentoring and empowering young women worldwide. The nonprofit 88bikes exemplifies the transformative impact of empowerment and mobility by providing bikes to girls who have survived human trafficking. To date, the organization has distributed 10,000 bikes to young girls in over 19 countries. Additionally, She’s the First directly impacts thousands of girls annually across numerous countries by ensuring girls are educated, respected and heard through mentorship and education programs.?? One of the most fulfilling aspects of working at Commvault is being part of a culture where colleagues genuinely care about each other’s passions, success and personal growth. This culture of support and encouragement has been instrumental in my own journey, and I am committed to paying it forward by inspiring, supporting and empowering those around me to be their best selves every day.
